Laptop for students

Due to extensive use of IT facilities and e-resources required by students during their studies, starting from the August 2007 intake, all incoming students will be required to have their own laptop computer which would enable them to access e-resources from anywhere. For new students who do not own their own laptop computer, the Institute will provide support to facilitate them in obtaining a new laptop computer through the following measures:

  • Secure a special deal with SVOA Public Company Ltd. to supply SVOA’s laptop at the best price;
  • Subsidize 50% of the cost of a laptop with basic configurations;
  • Allow the remaining 50% amount, which is shouldered by student, to be paid back in installments within one year, but half of this amount has to be paid on delivery.

The basic configuration offered meets most students’ requirements. Existing students, faculty, staff and alumni may also participate in this purchasing scheme; however the subsidy is not extended to them. For further details, please contact ITSU, ITSU Building Rm. 105, tel. 6082, email:
