Monsoon Marathon is more than a race for AITIS students

Since many participants were school children, the marathon stretch was
reduced to 2.2 kilometers compared to the seniors who raced for three
kilometers. Guiding the students was Ms. Kasia Pudia, principal of
AITIS who also introduced the participants to the Outreach Program for
Migrant Burmese Children at Talad Thai and the Rangsit Babies Home in
Pathumthani. Through this project, AITIS has raised 30,000 Baht which
will be used to purchase materials for these two organizations.

Ms. Izel Dante, Head of Administration, AIT flagged off the race and
distributed certificates and medals. Mr. Nyi Nyi Tun, guest
representative remarked that such activities go a long way in creating
awareness. Mr. Anjelo Mungcal, team leader of the AIT Monsoon Marathon,
remarked that the race promotes the concept of a healthy mind in a
health body. He was assisted by team members Mr. Cosima Blaeske and Ms.
Suvatjani Perenchio in organizing the race.

In the junior division (girls), the first prize went to Divi Ashish
Maheshwari, while Emm Parnichkun came second and Monlaphat Changsuphan
was ranked third. In the junior division (boys), Pharanyu Chantrachu
was first, followed by Kent Dante who came second and Obed Yila who
came third. In the senior division (girls), the first position was
bagged by Krittayawan Piromrak, followed by Pinyada Nipon who came
second and Virasinee Luevisadpaibul who was third in the race. In the
senior division (boys), Ager Lee Pardilla came first, while Sambit Dash
was second and John Patrick Gonzales was third.

In the open division which was meant for parents and friends of the
AIT community, the first prize was bagged by Mr. San Sengkhoonthod,
while Mr. Praveen Kumar Singh came second and Mr. Poramate Suwandul was
third.
