Myanmar Egress signs MOU with AIT

The MOU was signed by Prof. Said Irandoust, President, AIT, and Dr.
Nay Win Maung, Secretary General, Myanmar Egress. AIT will also
initiate a Professional Master’s in Public Policy (MPP) Program for
Myanmar. Myanmar Egress will collaborate with the Wetland Alliance
Program and the CSR Asia Center at AIT. Myanmar Egress also invited AIT
to participate in a curriculum development and technical workshop in
May 2011.

The delegation from Myanmar Egress comprised of Mr. Sonny Nyunt Thein,
Vice President; Dr. Nay Win Maung, Secretary General; Dr. Kyaw Yin
Hlaing, Director; Ms. Khin Moe Samm, Assistant Program Director,Myanmar
Egress Institute; and Ms. Phyu Yamin Myat, Faculty of Public
Policy,Myanmar Egress Institute. Mr. Tin Maung Thann, President of
Myanmar Egress, is an AIT alumnus, who received the AITAA Distinguished
Alumni Award in 2005 for Rural and Community Development.

Dr.Weerakorn Ongsakul, Dean, School of Environment, Resources and
Development (SERD), who represented Prof. Said Irandoust, President,
AIT, welcomed the initiative. Mr. Kyaw Soe Hlaing, Program Coordinator,
ERCO, stated that CSR Asia Center at AIT will be organizing an event in
Myanmar in May 2011. Others who participated in the meeting included
Dr. Pritam Krishna Shrestha, Head, External Relations and
Communications Office (ERCO); Hans Joakim Guttman, Coordinator, Wetland
Alliance Programme (WAP); Mr. Matthew Lewinsky, Director, Language
Center; Ms. Kanchana Wiset and Ms. Wit Hmone Tin Latt, both from CSR
Asia Center at AIT.
