Welcoming the delegation, the AIT President Prof. Said Irandoust
thanked EBARA for the gesture. “AIT is thankful to its friends, and the
Institute looks forward to a better post-flood future,” the President
said. “We are thankful that our friends and partners are thinking about
us, particularly in this time of crisis,” he added.

Mr. Hirono remarked that the EBARA workshop in Navanakorn Industrial
Promotion Zone in Pathumthani was also damaged, since it remained
inundated under two meters of water for six weeks. He added that EBARA
would be keen to collaborate with AIT and would seek its help when it
expands its operations.

Mr. Nakano stated that South-East Asia continues to be a very
important region for EBARA, and described AIT as a valued partner.

Dr. Jonathan Shaw, Executive Director, AIT Extension, stated that the
AIT-EBARA partnership is over two decades old. “It is a strong and
successful partnership, and we hope that it continues for a long time,”
Dr. Shaw added. Others who participated in the meeting included Mr.
Olivier Drean, Interim Head, External Relations and Communications
Office (ERCO), and Mr. Tenzin Rabgyal, Senior Program Officer,
ERCO.
