Dr. Somchet obtained his Master’s of Engineering (Water Resource
Engineering) and Ph.D from AIT in 1975 and 1980 respectively. He is
currently serving as the Chairman of the Executive Board of National
Innovation Agency (NIA), Ministry of Industry, as well as Chairman of
Executive Board of Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development
Agency (GISTDA), Ministry of Science and Technology.
He is not new to AITAA, having served as President of the Thailand
Chapter from 1993-1998.
