From technology to management, AIT scholars present their innovative ideas

Organized by AIT Solutions, participants were encouraged to present
their research and business ideas which can be upscaled for
implementation by companies, industry and business houses. The
competition provided a platform for AIT researchers to present their
ideas which can be developed along with industry experts and venture
capitalists.

The 12 participants teams included Mr. Umar Safdar and Mr. Muhammad
Amir Izhar who presented their proposal on solutions for education
under the title “EDU-AIDI,” while Mr. Nipuna Wickramanayake and P. A.
Diluka Harischandra presented their concept of an “Autonomous Seabed
Scanner Tug Boat.” Mr. Salman Ali Suhail showcased his project titled
“Improving design of pile foundation for vibrating loads,” while Mr.
Sunera Samaranayake presented “Integrated in site logistic management
system for building construction projects.” “Retail is detail” was the
presentation by Mr. Watcharapoj Sapsanguanboon, while Mr. Amin
Shamseddini presented “A low cost solutions to convert standard camera
to spatio-hyper-spectral camera.”

Mr. Binara Sakalasuriya    presented a project
“Controlling robotic arms through Ethernet”, while the team of 
Mr. Ankit SJB Rana, Mr. Ambuj Vaidya, and Ms. Vijittra
Maneerattanakittikul elaborated on “Easy Expo.” “Vision aided
trajectory control Tennis Ball Shooting Robot” was the theme presented
by Mr. Shehan Caldera, while Mr. Govinda Khanal spoke about his concept
of  “A low cost and effective approach to improve seismic
resistance of masonry. “ Dr. Indrajit Pal, Ms. Asmita Khadka, and Mr.
Nattapon Trumikabovon presented “Reducing Risk of Disasters through
multi-stakeholder collaborative model,” while Mr. Nipuna Wickramanayake
and P. A. Diluka Harischandra spoke on “A low cost flight
simulator.

Mr. Amin Shamseddini was declared the overall winner
with his concept of converting a standard camera into a
spatio-hyper-spectral camera, while the team comprising of Mr. Ankit
SJB Rana, Mr. Ambuj Vaidya, and Ms. Vijittra Maneerattanakittikul won
the second prize, and Mr Govinda Khanal winning the third prize.
Inter-category winners included Mr. Salman Ali Suhail (Infrastructure
and Buildings), Mr. Shehan in Robotics, and Mr. Umar Safdar and Mr.
Muhammad Amir Izhar in Software and IT.

Winners will have the opportunity to access financial support and
technical assistance to convert their ideas into fruition.
