Dr. Rung Kaewdang launches 'Learning from Monkeys' (Khruu Somporn Kon Son Ling)

Dr. Rung Kaewdang, one of Thailand's most active and dedicated educators and currently serving as Secretary-General of the Office of the National Education Commission (ONEC) and an AIT Trustee, recently launched his new book entitled 'Learning from Monkeys' (Khruu Somporn Kon Son Ling).

Dr. Rung was motivated to write this book after seeing Khruu Somporn apply the principles of pedagogy in training monkeys and transforming them into quality agricultural workers. To most humans, monkeys are wild animals that are mean and naughty.

In writing the book, Dr. Rung hopes to raise public consciousness and to create a force for educational reform. He likens the process to watching a monkey drama and being inspired to take a good look at ourselves. It is hoped that this story will contribute to educational change and to development and the enhancement of the quality of life in Thailand.

The book is available in both English and Thai. The English version costs Bt180 and Bt85 for the Thai version.
