The Environmental Engineering and Management field of study is organizing an Annual Review Workshop on “Asian Regional Research Programme on Environmental Technology Phase II (ARRPET II)“ to be held during 12-14 November 2007, at AIT.
The Asian Regional Research Programme on Environmental Technology Phase II (ARRPET II), coordinated by AIT, is funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida). ARRPET involves 18 National Research Institutions (NRIs) in 8 Asian countries, namely: China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. The program’s major research themes include: Industrial and Hazardous Waste Treatment and Management, Sustainable Solid Waste Landfill Management in Asia, Improving Air Quality in Asian Developing Countries and Wastewater Treatment and Management.
The workshop aims at evaluation and discussion of the results and achievements of the on-going project research under ARRPET during 2006.
Over 40 researchers from 8 different Asian countries are expected to attend this event. Representatives from the National Research Institutes, and Swedish Resource Persons, such as Dr. Robert Nygård (Research Advisor of Sida in charge of the Regional Programme and the Sida Evaluation Team) will be participating in the workshop.
