AIT joins consortium of Thai universities to promote technology education

AIT is participating in a consortium of Thai universities in support of the Higher Education Development Project (HEDP). Established by the Thai Government with financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the HEDP seeks to strengthen postgraduate education and research in cooperation with industry and the private sector. Focus is placed on building a strong R&D; foundation in seven priority science and technology-related fields. The ultimate goal is to boost the Thailand’s economic competitiveness.

The Consortium, known as the Environmental Science, Technology and Management Consortium of Universities, is composed of AIT, the Chulabhorn Research Institute (CRI), Burapha University’s Faculty of Science and Mahidol University (covering the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, and Faculty of Public Health). The Consortium is collaborating with the Ministry of University Affairs in carrying out the HEDP.

Under the HEDP, Thai government officials will be provided scholarship grants to further their studies at AIT, CRI, Burapha University, and Mahidol University.
