PROF. Y.S. CHUNG THANKS AIT BY DONATING TO THE ARIRANG ENDOWMENT FUND

I am pleased to inform the AIT community that Professor Young-Shik Chung, a Visiting Faculty at the School of Civil Engineering, is leaving AIT this April 2000. Prof. Chung would like to thank the Institute for the short time he spent in SCE with a personal donation of US$1,000 to the Arirang Fund.

The Arirang Fund was initially established with the donation of US$1,000 from Prof. Young-Suk Hyun, SOM faculty member. The fund will be used to support nationals from North Korea to come to AIT for short-term training as well as degree programs in the future.

A Korean national, Professor Young-Shik Chung, was appointed as Visiting Faculty in the Structural Engineering & Construction Program in January 2000 for four months. He supported the SCE faculty in teaching and research supervision of students in both structural engineering and construction areas. Seconded by the Rotary International, Prof. Chung is on leave as Professor of Civil Engineering from the University of Ulsan.
