Two Sixth Grade Child Center Students represented AIT at the Global Environmental Youth Convention

Two AIT Child Center Sixth Grade Students, Pisuit (Ice) Toopairo (top) and Aditya Babel (center), along with their Teacher, Mrs. Sonia de los Reyes, (bottom) and their Mentor, Mr. Virgilio M Panapanaan, attended the Global Environmental Youth Convention in Lund, Sweden from 15 to 19 June.

The purpose of the convention is to involve today’s young people around the world with appropriate environmental knowledge and to build global connections among them. Prior to the convention participants worked for months studying environmental issues globally via the internet and undertook a local project. Ice and Aditya studied traffic problems in Bangkok and made a well-received presentation at the convention.

Youth from 14 to 17 years of age from 102 countries attended. H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf, the convention’s patron, participated in the opening ceremony.
