Dean Chongrak receives top academic honors

Prof. Chongrak Polprasert, Dean of the School of Environment, Resources and Development of the Asian Institute of Technology, has been named recipient of two top academic honors, namely the Research Publication Award, presented by the Thailand Research Fund (TRF), and the Outstanding Scientist Award, presented by the Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Technology of Thailand, under the patronage of His Majesty the King.

The TRF award will be presented by H.E. Mr. Chuan Leekpai, Prime Minister of Thailand, on 9 August at the Government House. The Outstanding Scientist Award will be given by HRH Princess Chulabhorn on 18 August at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.

In his congratulatory message, AIT President Jean-Louis Armand noted that ‘these prestigious awards are in recognition of Dean Chongrak’s outstanding contributions in the field of environmental engineering, particularly in the use of natural systems for water pollution control and waste recycling. On behalf of the AIT community, I would like to express our appreciation to Dean Chongrak for his achievements and for the example he has set forth to all of us in both academic excellence and contribution to Thailand and the region.’
