AIT signs partnership agreement with Mekong River Commission

In line with its objective to meet the continuing need for advanced education in engineering, science and technology in the Asia-Pacific region, AIT has signed a partnership agreement with the Mekong River Commission (MRC), on 11 October. The signatories were Mr. Joern Kristensen, Chief Executive Officer of MRC, and AIT President, Prof. Jean-Louis Armand.

As regional cooperation in relation to the Mekong Basin will become one of the most important driving forces for the region’s development, MRC and AIT’s complementary mandate provides the basis for mutually beneficial cooperation.

The agreement will establish the overall framework for strengthening inter-institutional relationship and cooperation in the areas of water resources modeling, watershed management, environmental management and community-based development through the following activities: capacity building and human resource development, information exchange, research collaboration and consultancy/advisory services.
