The Danish Cooperation for Environment and Development (DANCED), now renamed
DANIDA (Thailand Section), in support of Thailand’s Department of Energy
Development Fund and Promotion (DEDP), Ministry of Science, Technology, and
Environment (MOSTE), granted the AIT’s School of Civil Engineering with Bt12.48M
to conduct a 20-month research study on ‘Adjustments to the
Building Energy Code.’

Much of Thailand’s building codes and standards need updating corresponding
to latest technologies related to energy conservation. With knowledge on
local issues, local experts will play a critical role in the project making
this initiative the first time ever under the present Thai Constitution that
a Building Law will be written with the full participation of stakeholders
from the grassroots up.
