Meetings of the Student, Faculty, and Staff Relations Committees and Alumni Relations Panel of the Board of Trustees


The Student Relations Committee meeting was held on 3 April 2002 and co-chaired by AIT trustees, H.E. Ambassador Do Ngoc Son of Viet Nam and H.E. Ambassador George Znidaric of Austria. The out-going and in-coming Student Union Presidents along with nine other student representatives participated in the meeting. The Provost, Registrar, Dean, School of Environment Resources and Development, Dean, School of Management and the Dean of Student and Community Affairs also attended the meeting.

The Faculty Relations Committee meeting was held on 10 April 2002 and co-chaired by AIT trustees, H.E. Ambassador Hiem Phommachanh of Lao PDR and H. E. Ambassador Gerard Kramer of the Netherlands. The Chairman of the Academic Senate and four representatives of the faculty appointed by the Academic Senate namely: Professor Vilas Wuwongse, Dr Arne Deussen, Dr. William Barry, and Dr. Amararatne Yakupitiyage participated in the meeting. The Provost, Registrar, Dean, School of Advanced Technologies, and Dean, School of Civil Engineering also attended the meeting.

The Staff Relations Committee meeting was held on 19 April 2002 and co-chaired by Board of Trustee member H.E. Ambassador Ulrik Helweg-Larsen of Denmark, and Mr. Deepak Dhital who attended on behalf of H.E. Ambassador of Nepal. Eight members of the Staff Affairs Working Group (SAWG) led by Dr Shrinivas Rao, Chairman of the SAWG, and six members of the Employees Committee led by Mr. Chaichalerm Kosiswadi, President of the Labor Union attended the meeting. The Provost, Registrar, Dean, School of Advanced Technologies, Dean, School Environment Resources and Development, Dean, School of Management and Dean, AIT Extension also attended the meeting.

The Alumni Relations Panel of the Board of Trustees will hold its first meeting on 23 April 2002 at the AIT Conference Center. The meeting will be co-chaired by AIT Trustees, H.E. Ambassador Heikki Tuunanen of Finland and H.E. Ambassador A. N. M. Uddin of Bangladesh. The AITAA President, AITAA national chapter Presidents along with the AIT President, Provost, Registrar, Deans of the Schools, Dean of AIT Extension and the Alumni Relations Coordinator will participate in the meeting.

The reports of the meetings will be presented at the 25 April 2002 meeting of the Board of Trustees by the Co-Chairmen.
