Netherlands firm holds Delta Competition

In commemoration of its 125 th anniversary in 2006, Royal Haskoning, an engineering, architectural and consulting firm based in the Netherlands, invites bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students from all over the world to enter the Delta Competition.

The purpose of the Delta Competition is to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to the threats and issues facing densely populated delta areas due to climate change, rising sea level and increasing river discharges. With this initiative, Royal Haskoning is looking for new, inspiring and daring ideas and unexpected solutions, constituting a fusion of thoughts from different disciplines.

First prize is 10,000 euros, second prize is 5,000 euros and third prize is 2,500 euros. The 10 best papers will be published in a book. The best paper, to be determined by a jury, will be presented during the event at the occasion of the 125 th anniversary of Royal Haskoning, in October 2006 in The Netherlands.
