Congratulations to Dr. Nitin Afzulpurkar, Associate Dean for Promotion, School of Engineering and Technology (SET), who received an invitation from Professor Teresa Zeilinska from the Warsaw University of Technology, which is a member of the European Master on Advanced Robotics (EMARO) Erasmus Mundus consortium, for AIT to be one of their partners. The Masters course EMARO has been designed and accepted in the framework of the European Union Programme Erasmus Mundus, and the aim of the course is to promote high-quality educational offers in the area of advanced and intelligent robots. The other partners in the consortium are the Ecole Centrale de Nantes (France) and the University of Genova (Italy). As a partner in the program AIT would have some students accepted to the EMARO master’s program as well as teaching engagements for AIT faculty in the EMARO. Congratulations to Dr. Joydeep Dutta, faculty in the Mechatronics and Microelectronics field of study, Associate Dean for New Development, School of Engineering and Technology, and colleagues whose work on forensic fingerprint enhancement using bioadhesive chitosan and gold nanoparticles was highlighted in The Nation newspaper on 30 October 2007. This work was started with the summer research work of a student from Dartmouth College, Mr. Kazi Kased L. Ahmed, and Mr. Abhilash Sugunan, a research associate of AIT Center for Excellence in Nanotechnology, and later continued by Mr. Naveed Ul-Islam during his master’s studies at AIT.
