The Asian Institute of Technology would like to invite you to Dr. Ravinder Kumar Khetarpal’s seminar on “Connecting Research to Impact Agri-Business in next Decade”.
The FAO of the UN estimates that global demand for food will rise by 50% between 2012 and 2050 to feed a population of almost 10 billion with rising income levels. It is presumed that the rising demand for food can be met, but it is unclear to what extent this can be done in a sustainable and inclusive manner. To achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal number two, to “end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture” by 2030, the FAO is calling for more productive, efficient, sustainable, inclusive, transparent, and resilient food systems. In light with this scenario, the presentation will discuss the enhanced role of connecting research to impact agri business in the next decade and highlight the role of Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation System in accelerating the process and enhancing the impact.
