AIT and UNESCO sign MoU for Mutual Cooperation

The Asian Institute of Technology on 29 September 2020 signed an official Memorandum of Understanding with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization at a ceremony in Bangkok.

During the MoU signing ceremony, Mr. Shigeru Aoyagi, Director of the UNESCO Regional Education Bureau in Asia Pacific in Bangkok, expressed his happiness to sign the partnership instrument with AIT for future collaboration and mentioned some of the areas where UNESCO and AIT could collaborate. Dr. Eden Y Woon also expressed his pleasure to sign the MoU at institutional level, saying that internship opportunities and field exposure visits for AIT students were the immediate activities that could be initiated based on new cooperation.

AIT and UNESCO had a long-term partnership and this MoU will strengthen the partnership between the both institutions, Dr. Boer Benno, Chief of Natural Science at UNESCO Bangkok added. Mr. Shawn P. Kelly, Director of Office of International Affairs (OIA) and Office of Public Affairs (OPA), Ms. Sumana Shrestha, Senior Program Officer of OIA, Mr. Panyot Pattanachodpinyo, Programme Assistant of UNESCO Bangkok and Mr. Samphat Semathong, Photographer, OPA also attend the MoU signing ceremony.
