MoU Signing Ceremony Between AIT and China State Construction Engineering (Thailand) Co., Ltd

To provide a robust framework for further cooperation in joint laboratory work, technical research, education and training, on March 3, 2021, AIT and the delegation from China State Construction Engineering (Thailand) Co., Ltd (CSCECTH) successfully signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a visit to AIT.

AIT President Dr. Eden Woon and Mr. Yinfei Wang, Managing Director of CSCECTH, signed the MoU. Dr. Wenchao Xue, Director of the AIT Belt & Road Research Center and Mr. Chongming Liu, Deputy Managing Director of CSCECTH, signed as witnesses.

The delegation from CSCECTH also included other corporate executives and the project managers of the ongoing China-Thailand High-Speed Railway construction project. The rest of the AIT attendees were Professor Pennung Warnitchai and Dr. Geoff Chao from the School of Engineering and Technology, Mr. Shawn Kelly, Director of the Office of International Affairs, and Coordinator Ms. Danielle Duan.

President Woon extended his appreciation to the company’s remarkable success to have won the contracts of the China-Thailand High-Speed Railway project and thanked the guests for their trust in AIT to conduct the experimental and technical inspection and consultancy work for the construction project. He then stressed that the two parties had laid the cornerstone for the Belt and Road Initiative’s comprehensive collaboration. The signing of the MoU kicks off a series of in-depth and forward-looking cooperation initiatives in the future.

Mr. Yinfei Wang, Managing Director of CSCECTH, praised AIT’s great accomplishment in research and education and its longstanding commitment to the region’s sustainable development along with its history. He said he was hopeful and confident that AIT will stand as their strategic partner for the regional connectivity mission and open up pathways to reach out to a broader stage together. “When I come to AIT, the surroundings immediately remind me of the importance of education. We should express our gratitude towards AIT,” Mr. Wang said.“We will also endeavor to further cooperate with AIT in terms of student internship opportunities, joint R&D projects and other ways to employ our respective strength and resources for a win-win result for both sides.”
