Regional Container Lines Public Company Limited (RCL) Supports Three Master’s Scholarships

Mr. Sumate Thanthuwanit, AIT alumnus CRD ’72 and President of Regional Container Lines Public Company Limited (RCL)has agreed to support three full Master’s scholarships for students with any nationality to be enrolled in the three schools at AIT: School of Engineering & Technology (SET), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD), and School of Management (SOM).  Mr. Twinchok Tanthuwanit, Chief of Regions, Operations, Business, RCL and Dr. Eden Y. Woon, President of AIT signed the agreement on 25th November 2021.

RCL started as a Common Feeder Operator, operating its first feeder container ships in 1979 between Bangkok and Singapore. Presently, RCL owns and operates 46 container vessels covering more than 66 destinations in Asia, India, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East.

AIT President Dr. Eden Woon expressed his sincere thanks to Mr. Sumate in providing these scholarships whichwill truly transform the academic career of the prospective students.  The President further stated that AIT always looks to various kinds of support from the private sector, especially towards scholarships in order to attract young and academically bright students.  The Institute very much appreciates the scholarships provided by RCL.
