September 23, 2021 at the Thakhlong Municipality, where AIT is located in, a meeting was held between AIT and the Municipality officials led by Mr. Suthep Wongjang (the Municipality Mayor) on the ongoing collaborative project supported by the Educational Partnerships for Innovation in Communities – Network (EPIC-N). A 4-members AIT Team was warmly welcomed by the Mayor himself and his team.
The AIT Team, led by Dr. Md. Zakir Hossain (Director, AIT Extension & Principal Investigator of the Project), explains the EPIC Model and the specific work on “GHGs Estimation from the Waste Management Practices in Tha Khlong Municipality”, which will be carried out under this collaborative project. The Mayor and his team wishes to extend their support required for this project and they also would like AIT to work on other issues. They expect this specific project will be expanded in the future to solve the waste management problem and reduce global warming issue, which will lead to develop proper practical model with international standards. Both the project coordinators Mr. Chatuphol Pholwan (AIT) and Ms. Raphassa Thanawutthanadul (Tha Khlong Municipality) were present in the meeting, who are mainly responsible for facilitating the project tasks.
