AIT dorms to have internet connection soon

Prof. Kanchana reports that all student dormitories and villages
are under the rehabilitation plan, and the goal is to have LAN
connections up and running for the students as soon as possible. It’s a
laborious process, and good progress has been made.

But since the process of fiber splicing and UTP cabling does take
time, Wi-Fi hotspots have been set up around campus, such as at the
library, cafeteria and Korea House, as temporary solutions for students
requiring internet connectivity, she said.

Currently Wi-Fi access has been established at Dorms H, J and K.
Dorm T now has internet connections in each room, Prof. Kanchana
reports.

LAN connection is expected to be established at Dorms L through W,
and at Dorm Y, during the week of March 5-9. Dorms A through K, and
Dorm X can expect LAN connection to be completed during March
12-16.

Professor Kanchana has requested that students report any problems
with accessing the internet at Wi-Fi hotspots.
